Infinite Love

Getting in touch with the power that drives the Universe...

After a lifetime of following Christ and learning about the Bible, it dawned on me that there are some significant similarities between the Garden of Eden and Resurrection cemetery stories.  When Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, God placed 2 Cherubim (mighty angels) with flaming swords at the entrance, in order to prevent them and their offspring from gaining access to the tree of life.  These angels were memorialized on the Ark of the Covenant belonging to the Jewish people.  These symbolic angels guarded the contents of the Ark (the 10 Commandment stones).  These "Ark" angels were mounted on the top of the Ark box.

But in Luke's Gospel, he describes 2 angels sitting on Jesus' tomb slab.  These are the angels who asked Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Mary why they were looking for Jesus among the dead.

Let's see:  what are the commonalities?

A pair of angels in 2 gardens.  Both sets of angels are presiding over an eternal entrance.  The first set of angels forbids human entrance.  The second set of angels bids the women to enter.  God was the original "gardener."  Jesus is mistaken as a common gardener for the cemetery.  But His resurrection welcomed all men, women and children back into the original garden to receive eternal life.  Jesus was indeed the "Gardener," welcoming us all back into His family of everlasting love.  Welcoming us back into the eternal Eden of His Presence.
