The Cup

By Brad FoxWhen I was in Uganda, Central Africa, in 2007, I visited a camp for Internally Displaced People of that country.  An IDP camp is a safe place for families with children to live.  IDP camps were made to protect children from being kidnapped and enrolled into the Lord’s Resistance Army of Joseph Kony.  He was a terrorist trying to overthrow the governments of Uganda and Congo using child soldiers who were trained to kill.  These camps weren’t intended to be a punishment, but rather a…See More

Garden Angels

After a lifetime of following Christ and learning about the Bible, it dawned on me that there are some significant similarities between the Garden of Eden and Resurrection cemetery stories.  When Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, God placed 2 Cherubim (mighty angels) with flaming swords at the entrance, in order to prevent them and their offspring from gaining access to the tree of life.  These angels were memorialized on the Ark of the Covenant belonging to the Jewish people. …See More

Blessed beyond measure 8/25/19

It was good to be back to "normal" with him and I could tell that he really enjoyed himself. It made my day to see…See More

God speaking to Cain:  “Where is your brother?”Cain’s reply:  “Am I my brother’s keeper?”Silence.  Jesus’ question of the expert in the law after telling the story of the Good Samaritan: “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”Jesus told him, “Go and do…See More

The Gun

I served as a seaman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war from January ’69 to November ‘70.  My first ship was the U.S.S. New Jersey BB-62.  I had been flown out to the U.S.S. Ranger CV-61 aircraft carrier from Subic Bay on a mail plane.  The Ranger was “on station” in the Tonkin Gulf and it was a way station of sorts to get personnel out to the ships in the fleet…See More
